News: New URL’s and Site Slowdown
Just wanted to let everyone know that I’m in the process of replacing all of my download links (currently all are bit.ly) with ones created using my site. I use a url shortener not because the url’s need to be shortened, but because it helps me track how many click throughs there are. Additionally sometimes I host a file on my site and sometimes I don’t, so it gives a common feel for all the links. Please report any issues you have with the new links once they start showing up.
As far as reporting issues goes… my site is running extremely slow right now. My host will be notified shortly.

I used the download link ( bit.ly ) but failed yesterday.
I found out finally that bit.ly is unavailable in China. it cann’t be browsed or hosted. so pity….sigh
it is more depressing that the 1.56Rom still have problem in sending chinese-TXT-message.
BTW, what’s going on with the rom based on V2.1?look forward to a Fresh-Rom on V2.1.Like or Dislike:

It is heard V2.1 Rom supports Chinese SMS.
btw , there are a lot of people using hero200 in China.
Modaco Rom is international. it supports Chinese well and has special version for china. So hope you can do something to make Fresh-Rom more universal and international. I believe you will be much popular if you do so and download record (2000? ) can be easily broken.Like or Dislike:

Modaco’s CDMA rom isn’t international and doesn’t support Chinese. That rom hasn’t even been updated since it’s initial release. But yes, most Hero developers aren’t from the US. There is no (non-beta) version of the CDMA Hero rom that is capable of doing anything other than WWE.

Actually , ANDROID system is very international,it supports not only WWE (as you said) but also Chinese well.
Even in V1.5 stock rom ,after installed custom-locale.apk, user can chose language such as Chinese or Russian or many many else.
We can input Chinese,we can read chinese,we can use chinese software ….U know
The only unhappy problem is that when it sending non-WWE SMS, it failed.
But it is obvious not a android problem ,because there is NOT problem with other GSM android cell phone,such as DREAM or HERO or….
So i believe that it’s not very difficult to fix it. Just need a little research…
BTW, you are right , Modaco’s CDMA rom hasn’t been updated for a long time, but Modaco’s GSM rom is very good ,and even has special version for china.

You mentioned you were using the url shortener to keep track of downloads.
Do you have another solution that you are implementing since you are switching out the urls?
If not give me a buzz.I’ve got a solution that may help you out – it utilizes google analytics to track external links.

Thanks for the tip. I do already have another solution in place though. It’s just all being tracked through my site now. I am using analytics for other things, including tracking external links. However I get much more useful information out of the tracking stats that wordpress gives me. But yea even on top of that I just didn’t like being dependent on another site to provide my url’s. The way I have it setup now I can create short ones, track them, and even easily change what that specific link is pointing to which is something I couldn’t do on bit.ly. So it’s working out great. But thanks!

btw – thats not spam or anything. I have a buddy that pieced together a mashup of google analytics and his own custom javascript. its open source / free to use / whatever you might call it. (ie I’m not trying to sell you anything – I’ll give you the code if you think it would be useful).

I keep getting the 170 error when trying to get back to stock. I have tried every solution here. And nothing. Even the ##3424# thing. But it never works. Any help would be appreciated. Cause I really cant understand at all the instructions for this. Is it a given that I had to have my phone on fastbook? Cause I havent seen that any where. A step by step tuturial would be nice.
