Got it. Thanks for the quick reply. Yah, I’m eager for 2.1 too, but decided to start with your 1.5 so I didn’t have to wipe yet. Maybe I’ll cook up my own ROM with the elements I want. Great program, thanks.

With this version of the kitchen I only included the tiny zips that are needed to make the visuals work. Meaning it takes the main frameworks, and mashes it with the changed files. They are not full on themes which is why if you try doing “install theme” via the kitchen and then picking one of the theme zips that came with it, they won’t work. I had actually debated on naming them something other than .zip so that they didn’t show up at all in the theme installer, but I didn’t do it.

But yea basically you need to grab any 1.5 themes you like and use those instead. They are getting a little harder to find with 2.1 being so close.

Thanks for this! Just rooted my Hero and went straight to 1.1. Amazing how much faster everything is. Can’t believe I waited this long…

I am having trouble changing the lockscreen and icons with the kitchen. Everything appears to work. Even ran the debugger and no errors get thrown. However, the lockscreen and icons do not change. Tried rebooting, but it didn’t affect it. Any help is appreciated. I have searched but didn’t find any answers.

i cant get the apps to sd work. all of the apps that i have downloaded keeps on saving to the phone. can you please give a step by step way of fixing this

Thanks for all of your work – using the kitchen was my first attempt at rooting my Hero and installing a modified rom, and you are my hero for making it so painless. (I know, that was lame.) I made my first donation today!

One thing that I noticed is that 1.1 is really zippy after a reboot, but if I go into Task Panel and close some apps that auto load (like Sprint Nav or Pandora), the speed seems to slow way down. I don’t know if it’s my system or ??? but if I leave everything alone its faster, so I stopped closing apps.

Fixed. Had to do with Shapewriter, which was my initial hunch. I didn’t have to uninstall the app, I just had to switch back to touch input. Once I did that and went back to the home screen, the keyboard jumped up for a second, went back down, and everything worked normally again.
