It is Christmas day and I’m finally releasing it… the fresh pre-kitchen beta by flipz!!

But what is a (pre-)kitchen you ask? A kitchen is a program that allows you to take a base of a rom and basically build it how you want it so that you get a nice custom rom suited to you. Well this application isn’t quite there yet which is why I am calling it a pre-kitchen, making it version 0.1, and labeling it a beta. This is a work in progress… a proof of concept. It is taking all of the individual things that make a kitchen and building them one piece at a time, until finally we have a full working visual kitchen for Android!

This is a public beta. There will be bugs. There will be problems. Please come report them so that I can track issues but don’t come here complaining that it just doesn’t work and is crap. Nothing that this program does should cause any real damage to your phone (like brick it) however it is beta so use it safely. If you are reporting an issue then please tell me what happened, what OS you are running, what you were trying to do, and any error codes you may have. This is a windows only application.

Auto-rooter (use with caution)
Stock application installer
- Added Sprint Navigation and HTC Location Service
Stock application UNinstaller
Theme installer
Bootscreen installer
Create and restore nandroid backups
Backup and delete custom dictionary
Backup and delete all text messages
Clear cache
Clear lockscreen wallpaper cache (the one that prevented the totally clear lockscreen from working after picking a custom wallpaper)
Reboot, reboot to recovery, or power off.

Known Issues:

12/28/09: A bug was found that seems to affect a number of users that prevented them from installing themes and boot screens. I have fixed the issue and released an update. Check the downloads below or click here for more information.

I’ve tried to reload the Fresh 1.0 Theme with no success. The theme loads proberly but the padlock isn’t visible. I gotta have your lock screen back on there. Pre Kitchen works. I’m able to install new theme and boot screen. I’ve tried reinstalling kitchen and the Fresh theme twice. I’ve downloaded the .1b kitchen fix twice. The Fresh theme loads properly, Hero reboots, everything looks the way it should, just no lock.

Anyone have similar issue? Fix?

  The fresh 1.0 theme that’s included in the kitchen only changes the taskbar, it doesn’t include the lockscreen. That’s why it’s not working for you.

    My mistake. Thought I saw from other posts that installing Fresh 1.0 theme would get me your famous “padlock” screen. Must have misread something. Thanks for the quick response.

      Another question regarding the Fresh 1.0 Theme. When I click on this theme, the image that pops up clearly shows the image of a lock. When I click on the “Defresh-Lock-Removal.zip” I see the exact same taskbar and theme as “Fresh 1.0″ but without the “lock” image.
      
      What’s the difference between “Defresh-Lock-Removal.zip” and “Fresh-1.0.zip”?

Hi, I’m new to this but thanks flipz for your incredible work! I do have a question, I installed the original taskbar (default taskbar) but I want to get the clear lockscreen back from the 1.1 ROM. How would I do that? Or where can I find that file in the original rom? Thanks if you help, no worries if you don’t.

I just spent 8 hours working on version 0.2. It has almost no new features, but I have dramatically fixed some timing issues, debug issues, and error checking. This will greatly help the final product once it gets to that point. I need to step away from the computer for a while. I will be releasing 0.2 once I run through everything one more time, and also I have a couple new things I want to add in.

How can you remove a theme, I installed clear but I want to take it off. Help PLEASE….

Excellent, for some reason I don’t even get an option to “Mount SD” when connected to a PC anymore. My phone is seriously having issues.
