Download: Radio Baseband 2.41.04.02.03 for Sprint CDMA Hero
Geek for Me is proud to release:
Updated Radio.img for Android 2.1 (radio version 2.41.04.02.03) for Fresh Rom 2.0b
Thanks to toast for the moral support, and for being the first to test this on his phone. Haha.
- This has only been tested and confirmed as working on Fresh 2.0b
- Flashing an updated radio will typically give you better battery life and better signal
- This won’t fix any current problems with the 2.x roms, but it will make your phone more effecient
- Don’t hold me responsible if you brick your phone
- Don’t flash this unless you have a CDMA Hero
- I wouldn’t flash this unless you are on Fresh 2.0b
- In case you are wondering, our stock one is 1.04.01.09.21
Check this post for how to flash it: How To: Flash a Radio Update Sprint HTC Hero

That’s not actually a better way to word this. LinkinX is right to reference a RUU instead of a system wipe because the RUU can also update a radio if it contains the proper image file. These are pretty low-level changes, and a system wipe would not remove the radio flash. Heck, a system wipe won’t get rid of your current rom either.
Unfortunately, I don’t believe there is a radio image inside the sprint RUU, but someone should check to be sure.

It’s the radio update. My bluetooth is trashed. I’ve tried hopping around roms 1.1, 2.01, 2.0b, 2.0b2. Same on each one. So since I rely heavily on my stereo BT headset, today i’m going to run the RUU and bring it back to factory(hopefully), reroot in the kitchen, then flash 2.0b.
I’ll report back if this works.

I’m curious if anyone else experienced the same. I live in a low coverage area out in the boonies, when I first flashed with the new baseband, speedtest came up a bit over 1mb (nice in an area where you can barely keep EV over 1x) but after a few hours I was back to my normal speed which is about half that if not less.
It dashed my hopes quite a bit…

Hmm.. I have already noticed a significant improvement in my phone’s battery life with the stock Radio.
Am I misunderstanding by thinking this should have been included with the 2.0b ROM?
