More than anything else I receive questions on how to put a stock application back on the phone. Fresh ROM has removed a number of apps in order to free up space and memory, but a lot of people have trouble figuring out how to put them back on the phone. Here is a very easy way on how to do it.

I spent about an hour this afternoon throwing this program together. It is a simple batch script that will walk you through re-installing most of the apps. You have your choice of which apps you want to put back on. If you can’t figure this out then it might be best that you don’t root your phone.  :)

Using it couldn’t be easier:

  1. Download the file below to your (Windows) computer and extract the zip anywhere you want.
  2. Open a command prompt and go to the folder that you extracted it to. (ex:  cd c:\fresh-app-installer)
  3. Type installer.bat and hit enter.

This is specifically designed for Fresh ROM 0.6 and above, but should work on other roms.

Troubleshooting:

  • Make sure USB debugging is turned on.
    • Settings < Applications < Development < USB Debugging
  • Check device manager to make sure your phone’s driver is actually installed and you don’t have missing drivers.
  • Make sure you are on Fresh ROM 0.6 or higher.
