FAQ: What Does Fresh ROM Change / Why Flash It?

I get asked this question a lot. What’s the difference between Fresh ROM and the stock image. I just took all the change logs and combined it in to one list. I didn’t necessarily go in to detail on what something meant, but you get the idea. If you don’t know what something does, it was probably something to speed it up. Ha.

What more is there to say… it puts you in a different ball game. Not doing this is like saying I am happy with my stock vehicle (Pinto/Infiniti, etc) and we’re offering you a free Pimp My Ride and you’re like no, no, I’m happy with my ride just the way it is, slower, weighted down, less features. It makes no sense not to at least see if it’s for you and then switch back if it’s not IMHO

Is it possible for the Fresh team to add USB tether support & FLAC support in the next release?

USB tether can easily be achieved with ‘Wired Tether for Root Users’ app.
I’ll provide it to flipz and see if he wants to add it. A option for wired/wireless would be good to have I think.

Sweet! This makes the root + rom flash a cake walk. No need to go through and manually delete useless apps after words. Great work!

Thanks for hard work!
The release note says NFL has been removed yet I still seem to have it. Am I missing something or has something gone wrong?

  Sprint NFL has definitely been removed. It’s possible you still have a widget on your home screen if you haven’t deleted it, but it is not in the rom.

    I not only have the widget but I can also click on the widget and it opens up the full program.
    When you flash a new ROM the whole directory where system/sprint apps are get’s flashed doesn’t it?

Oh and one more thing. Even though IM app is removed Advanced Task Manager still shows IM in processes. I noticed that even before I installed fresh. Before I had Fresh I manually deleted IM.apk and odex and while the program disappear the process was still there. Thought you might shed some light on this. Thanks!

  Some IM services have to be left in because other services depend on them. The app is gone, but some services must remain.

want to put my apps on the sd and i have the root done and running fresh1.1 how do i go about getting this to work. the rom is great. i want the lock screen with the lock but when i install . it says complete but the lock isnt on the screen its just clear. thanks every thing is runing smooth.
