It seems there isn’t a single website out there right now that isn’t talking about Carrier IQ, as if it’s something brand new. I already made a post about this two weeks ago titled HTC is watching you… where I pointed out that while I wasn’t totally aware of what I had actually stumbled across, I first noticed this suspicious service over 2 years ago on the Sprint CDMA Hero.

Almost 8 months ago I successfully removed Carrier IQ from Fresh Evo 4.0, the first release for the Evo that was based on gingerbread. I have removed it on every rom since.

So the question remains… how do I remove Carrier IQ from my phone? If you’re using Fresh Rom, then you don’t have to! The work has already been done for you; 8 months ago. This includes Fresh Evo, Fresh Evo 3d, and Fresh Shift.
