Updated DarkTremor a2sd to 2.7.5 RC3 (08/16/10)
Updated Google Search to 1.1.0.48668 (08/12/10)
Updated Google Voice Search to 2.1.0 (08/12/10)
Updated Gmail to 2.2.1 (08/14/10)
Added Sprint Football Live 2.2.32 to /sdcard/fresh-removed-apks-3/
Fixed single click on “Search” button not working — I highly recommend that you uninstall Google Search and Google Voice Search if you already installed the new ones from the market before doing this update or that button may still not work.
There were a couple random reports of the video camera using 100% cpu load. I was never able to duplicate but I replaced HTCCamera just in case. I also brought back the shutter sounds.

Changes from Fresh Evo 3.0.0.4 to 3.1.0.1:

Built off of the new, OFFICIAL, Sprint Android 2.2 OTA update – 3.26.651.6
Updated launcher pro to 0.7.2
Removed QuickOffice and put it with the removed apks in /sdcard/fresh-removed-apks-3/
Added some HTC widgets that aren’t available for the Evo

Install Notes:The only special instructions are for the new voice search and voice actions from Google. If you have already installed the new versions off of the market then I recommend you uninstall them before flashing 3.1.0.2. After the phone boots up for the first time reboot it. At that point single clicking on the search button should work from anywhere and long pressing should bring up voice action. If you have any issues then (re)install them from the market and reboot and try again. It may take a little finagling but it definitely works, it just seems to be moody with getting it started the first time.

Try a simple reboot before anything else though.

If you are new to Fresh Evo: A full data wipe is required. I recommend doing a full data wipe, then flashing the rom, then flashing the radio, then flashing the wimax radio (if you don’t already have the updated radios). I’ve also had the best luck with Facebook syncing properly by setting up my gmail account during the inital setup screen but not setting up Facebook until you have booted in to the OS.

If you are a current user: No wipe should be required. However if you have any issues then do a full data wipe and re-flash the rom.

Fair warning: if you ask me something that is already answered in these release notes, the faq, or the known bugs then I’m probably not going to respond. Sorry.

Hey Flipz my light sensor seems to work really slow with 3.1.0.1 and .2

I thought it might have been some app I had updated but I tried Calk’s EViO and netarchy’s Burnt Droid and they both seem to work fine and not have this issue.

I just started to notice it with this update but I notice it mostly coming out of sleep. It just will slowly bring the brightness up to normal. I turn it on and the screen comes on quickly but is totally dimmed then slowly and noticeably brightens.

Running netarchy’s latest kernal on all three roms.

Still love your rom man just thought this could be a bug.

Hi Flipz,

I love the new rom. I wanted to know is if its possible to fix the vanilla lock screen so that pressing the menu button no longer unlocks the screen?

Hey Flipz,

Thanks for the awesome updates and all of your dedication. (fresh .2 user Haha). I’m using Launcher Pro and fancy widget and when I change the screen to Landscape, it messes up–it doesn’t fit correctly. I noticed that it looks just fine in CM6. Is this normal? Once again, Thanks!

Argh…It took me forever to figure this out… I had the new voice search working great on 3.1.0.0 until I updated to 3.1.0.2. First I uninstalled voice and then flashed, reinstalled voice and rebooted. It recognized “map” “call” and “search” but not “note to self” “email” “text” or “listen to.” I tried uninstalling and reinstalling voice, clearing data on voice and search, rebooting and even temporarily going back to 3.1.0.0. What finally helped was applying the Fresh Updater “Uninstall Facebook, Google Search, and Voice Search 2″ It didn’t uninstall anything that I could tell, but it solved the missing Google Voice Search actions that I was missing. Hope this helps someone else.

Flipz,

Not sure which update did it for me, but I did 3 in one night. I did the PRI update with your instructions, worked beautifully in only 2 tries =D After that I did the 3.1.0.2 incremental upgrade, worked beautifully as well. Followed by the VVM update. Somewhere in the mix, I ended up with double widgets and icons on my home screen. It’s an easy issue to resolve, I just drag the one on top that’s not functioning to the trash and the new one is still there underneath. Not sure if anyone else has seen that yet.

Hi. I flashed the rom and it looks awesome, but I have a problem. I noticed that the vanilla lock screen is pictured at the top of the post, but It is not actually on the rom. I tried flashing it separately but when I do I get a constant loop at the “fresh” splash screen. Can anybody help me out and tell me what I’m doing wrong? I don’t like the sense lock screen. Thanks.

  Man I really need to update that old vanilla lock screen post. It’s months old and only filed under 2.1 and the HTC Hero and still people flash it. lol.
  
  All you need to do is get rid of HTC’s lock screen and the vanilla lock screen will show up. The best way to do it is to grab one of the 4 available patches for it off of Fresh Updater as you also need to use (at the very least) the vanilla clock to set alarms. Check the FAQ for setting up Fresh Updater if you haven’t done it yet.

I can seem to edit any calendar entries. I can add a new entry for my Gmail calendar, but have no option to edit with this ROM.

  Click on the calendar, then click on the day in question to see the Agenda view. Click and hold on the item you want to edit, and you should get a choice of “View, Edit Delete or Share”

I’ve finished the update but when i try 2 set it up n put in my gmail it wont let me select it n it says google_login under the google account and when i try 2 go 2 my market it doesnt even come up it forces close as soon as i click it.

  Grab the full download, wipe, and re-flash the rom. It’s possible you grabbed the incremental and weren’t on the correct previous version. And the links work, I just tested all of them.

I just installed the Fresh Evo 3.1.0.2, did the flash for the radio and wimax, all seems well. Sprint is trying to give me an update for voicemail. That update will not finish installing and I cannot get the icon to get off the top of my screen telling me I have an update. Now I actually use google voice for my cell voice mail with their number not mine and retrieve via email, I just installled for the first time the voice app which it says it does not work with sprint either. but it has the messages for me to look at and listen. My whole thing is I want that sprint voicemail upgrade gone. I did try to uninstall sprint voicemail and that wont work either.

Updated through the fresh updater, and seems as though it went through some major problems.

I actually wiped everything before, since I didn’t have anything important on it. Started from stock kernel, with nothing else on it. After updating, I flashed it with 2 different kernels, to see if the problems would go away, but they remained.

The problems were:

1. 4g seems to not work at all. Can’t enable it. Tried on stock/kings/netarchy kernels.
2. Swype doesn’t work anymore. It used to work on the older 1.1

the first one is a big problem, while the second one isn’t a major one. Trying to flash back to 3.1.0.1 atm to see if it fixes it.

Seems like it’s not the new updated roms fault. Can’t seem to enable my 4g even with the old rom. I’ll have to reset it later, and figure out why its doing it

Flip, love the roms. Thank you, but HTC music and vanilla music both skip a little when I first play a song. It’s real annoying. Any suggestions? I don’t think I am alone with this problem. Any help would be appreciated.

I just noticed something…when I plug my phone into the pc, and the “Connect to PC” window opens and I choose “Charge Only”, the SD card is automatically mounted. Is it just me?

so i am on 3.1.02 and have un-installed and reinstalled iheartradio, but still am not able to connect to any stations, internet is currently working over 3g, but i get the same results over 4g and non filtered wi-fi as well

Anyone able to get BlueTooth Voice Dialing working with Fresh? Mine hangs at “Setting Up.”…

I’ve never tried it on stock so I don’t know if it’s fully functional there either, anyone?

Been having these awkward lag issues w/ 3.1.0.2 – at first I thought it was the Netarchy kernal but I have since swapped to Kings #6 and it seems to be that it only occurs when I exit the Camera app. Any tips?
