1 Million Clicks! Goodies inside.
0I began tracking clicks/downloads on http://geekfor.me on December 30, 2009 starting with the first release of Fresh Kitchen (was tracking using bit.ly prior to that). Earlier today I had my 1 millionth click! The single most downloaded file is Fresh Evo 3.5.0.1 with nearly 40,000 downloads.
To celebrate I figured this would be a good place to link to my imgur album which has some fresh wallpapers that I made real quick while trying to decide on a default wallpaper for the evo 3d. As I make more I’ll continue to update to that album, so check back later. I also made a new boot sound.
I will NOT be replacing my default “freshhh” because this new one isn’t as simple as that one, but I still like it.
HTC is watching you…
1With all the recent talk going on about CIQ (CarrierIQ) and HTC logging what we’re doing on our phones, my brain was finally jolted to a post I had made on Sprint’s forums over 2 years ago about this same exact thing.
I didn’t know enough to do anything about it back then as I was brand new to Android (I didn’t successfully remove CIQ until Fresh Evo 4.0.0.4 Beta back in April) but I just thought it would be fun to copy/paste the article here for nostalgia purposes.
The post back then got only 4336 views and 4 replies but is something that has turned in to one of the most talked about subjects today.

How To: Root (S-OFF) your HTC Evo 3d from Sprint – Tutorial
21Thanks to revolutionary (a collaborated effort between unrevoked and AlphaRev) we now have s-off on the HTC Evo 3d. This allows the ability to flash partitions with unsigned images (bypasses signature checking) so we can easily flash a custom recovery which will then allow you to flash a custom rom with root. This method works on both the 1.30 and 1.40 hboots, and after you complete the process successfully you will have permanently unlocked NAND write protection. The process is quite easy as long as you have some basic knowledge of adb/the android sdk, so let’s go started!
24 hours with my Evo 3d
23Hey all. I’ve had my Evo 3d for 24 hours now and I thought I would write up a quick review on my personal experience with it so far. I will say that I’m not exactly a wordsmith so this will be lacking compared to a review you may find on a better blog, but it’s my first hand experience. I will mostly be comparing the Evo to the Evo 3d. I also can be very picky and know how I like certain things, so this review may have a lot of cons listed.
Are Hero users still out there?
40Hey all. This is just a very quick and simple poll that is going to have an impact on the kitchen. I am (finally) going to start working on it again and I need to know if it’s worth my time to continue adding features for the Hero in to it, or if I should concentrate on the Hero. I obviously know that there are Hero owners out there still but I need to see what % still exist, and are still using Fresh Rom as their daily rom.
If the numbers aren’t high enough then I plan on dropping continued support for the Hero in the kitchen so that I can concentrate on the Evo.
Thanks!
What is your primary phone, and do you use fresh as your daily rom?
